Glass Tec Windows Hardware is Document Q Compliant

 

Document Q is a new provision to the Building Regulations that was implemented on the 1st of October 2015. The update is about the security of doors and windows. That’s why Glass Tec is concerned about Document Q, and we are now ready for the update.

At Glass Tec we take take the security of our customers seriously, and that’s why they make sure our hardware products got security accreditations, such as Secured by Design and PAS24. The accredited hardware shows the company’s dedication to providing high-quality windows and doors to consumers.

What are the Document Q Requirements?

According to the Document Q, newly installed doors and windows must provide reasonable resistance to physical attack from opportunist or burglars. The doors and windows must also provide adequate strength, and have the right hardware.

The good news is that Glass Tec tilt and turn and casement window lines have passed the new set of requirements. uPVC a doors were designed to provide high level of security as well. Their line of residential doors, composite doors, and French doors provide the security standards that Document Q requires.
